Ways to get OneView alerts/errors into Splunk

Can anyone share how you can get OneView alert data into Splunk? My director stated it as simply as possible: "Whenever an orange light comes on, I'd like that information be pulled into Splunk". I found a project on Github (https://github.com/prakashmirji/oneview-splunk-integration) that appears to do this. I'm willing to go down that road if need be --would like to know if others have different/better/easier ways to do this. Thanks.
