I have a DL380 Gen 10 server that is showing a yellow hardware error "An internal error has occurred" with a Resolution "Contact your local network administrator to resolve the issue." I can clear this alert and the hardware in Oneview turns green. However, exactly 4 hours later on the minute the same alert is back. The version of the iLo firmware is very recent too. Version 2.55 - Oct-2021. Additionally, my Oneview verison = 5.60.00-0429839

There are no issues or alerts showing anywhere in the iLo. I have also performed an iLo reset, but the issue persist. Since this is a Hyper-V server with 4 or 5 VMs running on it at any given time, I simply do not want to reboot the server as a shoot in the dark approach.

Any thoughts community?

Hello,

The Error message for Gen10 server guide shows that internal error occurs for NVDIMMs. Please refer to page 115 of the guide and section "483-NVDIMM Error - NVDIMMs cannot be initialized due to internal error". However, it does not mention any connection to any possible network configuration error to be resolved by network administrator. So more information about the error could enable one to isolate the issue!!

Regards,

If you look at the alert in OV and expand the "Event details" (scroll down a little in the UI to find this section for an expanded alert), does it provide any more context to help?

Yes, under the Events Detail, it does give more info.....

alertTypeID: server-hardware.mp.fw.firmware.config

clearPriorEvents: true

correctiveAction: Contact your local network administrator to resolve the issue.

locked: false

resourceUri: /rest/server-hardware/37383638-3430-4D32-3230-303830395652

Not sure what to make out of this...

Thanks in advance...Scott

The OneView alerts guide provides the following for the that alertTypeID (not sure why OV didn't show this description?)

Unable to fetch the firmware installation status from the server hardware.

Ensure that the network connectivity to the iLO is in a healthy condition. This can be verified by viewing the health of the server from the server hardware page. Check if there are any active network connectivity alerts in the activity section of the server hardware page and follow the resolutions mentioned and retry the operation after that. If the problem persists, contact your authorized support representative and provide them with a OneView support dump and the AHS logs from the iLO.

The iLo pages show no alerts or issues. Everything in the iLo appears to be healthy.
