Yes, you can manually install the SSA to check if the replacement drive is being added to the local array.

Alternatively, you can reboot the server, login to the IP, and access the SSA.

### Accessing HPE SSA using IP:

1. On the Intelligent Provisioning home screen, click "Perform Maintenance."
2. Select "HPE Smart Storage Administrator (HPE SSA)" from the maintenance options.
3. The Smart Storage Administrator window is displayed.

Does anyone know if the SSA (Smart Storage Array) is installed or pushed to the server on the Windows OS when the OV profile uses the "Firmware and OS Drivers using Smart Update Tools" option? If so, does it support all supported flavors of Windows?

I have a servers that is using the 2022.03 SPP bundle using this option, but does not have the SSA installed. Just find that ironic that I would have to manually install the SSA to determine if my replacement drive is being added to my local array.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the reply. However, the real question was if the parameter "Firmware and OS drivers" in the OV Profile, actually pushes out the SSA utility to the OS if it detects a Smart Array on the server.

Yes, if the firmware 'Firmware and OS drivers' is selected on the OV Profile and it detects a Smart Array controller, it will install SSA.

Thanks for the clarity. However, I have found that NOT to be true on two serperate instances over the last month. It is easy enough to manually install the SSA. However, just trying to determine why that is NOT being installed but the SUT process initially. It is not worth opening a case with support either. The juice is not worth the squeeze per se.

Thanks, Scott

I appreciate the update. It's crucial to investigate why the SSA installation didn't occur. While manual installation works for now,
understanding the cause could prevent future issues.
