HI,

We are trying to use RMC to create copies of our production Oracle databse that can then be used by our developers. Our Production and Development servers are in different subnets.

Prod servers on 196.158.1.*
Dev servers on 10.6.252.*

We cannot seem to get the DB to mount on the Dev servers. The RMC console and Primera managementaddress are also in the 196.158.1.* range.

Should this work, or do all the addresses have to be in the same subnet?

Any advice appreciated.

Thank you for your response,

My query was more around using RMC to create "snapclones" of our production Oracle databse for development when the Production and Development servers are in different subnet.. Our storage is Primera.

The 3Par best practises doccument does refer to HPE 3PAR Recovery Manager Central for Oracle configuration and best practices guide.

https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA6-7112ENW.pdf

Unfortunately the link is broken. Is there un updated document for Primera?

Hello @AWR,

That is the system recommended content. Please ignore if it is not relevant o your query.

In your situation, the production environment and RMC are in one subnet. And Development environment is on the other subnet.

If the routing is enabled between the development environment to RMC, then the backup is possible from development to RMC. Please check if your dev servers and RMC are pingable to each other.

Regards,
Srinivas Bhat

If you feel this was helpful please click the KUDOS! thumb below!
Note: All of my comments are my own and are not any official representation of the company.
