HPE Whitebox Switch Altoline 6900 setup

hi,

We are planning to setup a network environment with HPE ALtoline 6900 Britebox Switch. We are looking for available options for the combination of OS and Controllers it can support.

I am looking for information on what kind of OS (PicaOS or Cumulus) and SDN controller (HP VAN, Opendaylight, RYU..etc) would work better.

I also want to know if there is a limitation on using above combination as certain component may not be supported.

Hi alamf,

I'm not sure that the Altoline switches support OpenFlow.

I took a look at the Altoline 6900 datasheet and don't see OpenFlow mentioned anywhere:

Also searching on the HPE website and filtering by switches which support the "OpenFlow" feature, I only see Aruba and FlexFabric switches:
