Multiple clusters in a single federation

Hi All

Whereas I know having multiple clusters in a single Federation is fine and a common solution, I just want to confirm there are no gotcha's should each of these clusters be two node clusters that are directly connected (no 10Gbe switching). There is no requirement or intention to replicate data between any clusters but we're only licensed for a single VCSA and so need all these clusters to operate in a single Federation.

I believe that Federation communication will occur over the management network with this configuration so can't see any issues but wanted to ask the wider community.

Hello @CadenLange,

It's perfectly fine to have an HPE Simplivity Federation with 2-node clusters only. The only thing I would consider is the size of the federation. As per the Administration Guide, if you are on a Peer-Managed configuration (No MVA installed) you can deploy and manage a single vCenter Server with 32 HPE OmniStack hosts. Toscale beyond 32 hosts, you can leverage Enhanced Link Mode and link three vCenter Servers with 32 HPEOmniStack hosts in each vCenter Server.
