Hello,

I nedd your advise how to configure customer infrastructer for using RapidDR solution, there are 3 cluster on each site, principale site and DR site.

The goal is copy all VM with RapidDr at second site (WAN intreconnection beween prinsipale site and DR site)

Then, my question is what is required bandwidth for RapidDr?

Thank you

Hi hakimdd

To configure infrastructure for using the RapidDR solution on HPE SimpliVity, you will need to follow these general steps:

1. Ensure that the HPE SimpliVity clusters on both the principal and DR sites are properly configured and optimized for performance and availability.
2. Install and configure RapidDR on the principal site and DR site and ensure that both instances are properly licensed and configured.
3. Configure the WAN interconnection between the principal site and the DR site and ensure that there is sufficient bandwidth and low latency between the sites.
4. Create a replication plan in RapidDR to copy all VMs from the principal site to the DR site and configure the replication schedule and retention policy.
5. Monitor the replication process and ensure that it completes successfully and within the desired RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective) window.

Regarding your question about the required bandwidth for RapidDR, it depends on several factors, such as the size of the VMs, the frequency of replication, and the available network bandwidth between the sites. However, as a general thumb rule, it is recommended to have at least 1 Gbps of dedicated network bandwidth between the principal site and DR site for optimal performance of RapidDR.

It is also recommended to conduct a bandwidth assessment or a pilot replication test to determine the actual network bandwidth requirements for your specific environment and workload.

Hope this helps

Regards
Mahesh
