topic Simplivity CPU/Ram Upgrade in HPE SimpliVity

Hey there,

We're planning to upgrade the CPU and RAM on three identical simplivity nodes, all of which are currently live and we are prefering to make those deployments without having a downtime. We want to make sure everything goes smoothly during these upgrades and are wondering if there are any precautions we should keep in mind for these operations.

Any tips or advice you could share would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Hello @ekremyurdakul1,

For this type of changes your account team is usually engaged as we need to certify the parts are compatible with your system and that the installation is successful.

Before working on a node the general recommendations would be:

1. Ensure your VMs are in HA.

2. Evacuate all VMs from the host.

3. Perform a clean shutdown of the OmniStack controller.

4. Move the host to Maintenance Mode and shutdown.

Work only in one host at the same time. Again, I would coordinate this activity with your account team and make sure HPE assists with installation.
