Registered Organization Name for FOS 9

Hello,

for a new SN8700 director and FOS 9.x, Registered Organization Name is mandatory parameter to input and cannot be modified afterwards.

What it is used for? What implications it has on the rest of the SAN equipment?

Hello @Yavor,

Technically it has no implications. It is used for maintaining the customer's database so that your organization name, contact details etc are associated with the product serial number.

what would that customer database be?

Is it something HPE is collecting, the Broadcom or it would be something on our side?

Hello @Yavor,

It will be the customer's basic information like Organization name, system serial number, installed address, and contact information. If you enable call home feature, HPE call home servers will collect system logs as well. This control will be with customers whether enable or disable call home feature.
