hi there

we have a strange wireless issue related somehow with Hp830 and dhcp and cellular phones.

we have a couple of SSID on our controller pushed to APs , and different SSIDs have different authentication mechanisms , The problem is here with an SSID with "open authentication" ,i mean no wpa or something else

.The pc can connect but cellular phones do not connect (can not get IP address from DHCP) .

if i change the authentication mechanisim , then cellulars also get connected.

and also normally our DHCP server is linux based ,if we change the DHCP server to a widows DHCP , both pc and cellulars can easily get connected.

İ opened a case to HP , bu they could not help me ,

what i had done is upgraded the Hp 830 wireless controller to the latest version , but it didnot help either .

and help will be appreciated .

thanks.

Ok, both the service template is configured to do remote forwarding (i.e. traffic traversing through the controller). I see no reason from configuration perspective, on why it should not work.

Unless you can take some tcpdump/wireshark trace on the DHCP server, will not be able to really comment where the problem is.

We need to know if the DHCP server is receiving the DHCP request from the "mobile device" and subsequently responds to those requests.

hi ,

at the end ,i got the wireshark output

and i had noticed that we cellular is trying to reach to the dhcp server with "dhcp discover " request ,

but no response from the dhcp and so no ip address assigned.

do you want me to send it to you ?

thanks a lot
