Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to make our two MSM430 Access Points use one Broadcast ID. We have one on our first floor and one on our third floor, and both have different names. What we are trying to do is make it so if you are going from the first to third floor, you do not have to connect to another access point, but infact just go to the stronger signal when in range.

Would it be possible to make one a router and the other an access point to allow our vision above succeed?

The word I am looking for, for our setup, is to roam from one AP to another

Please advise.

Yes, this is a very common way to deplay wireless.

Are you using the MSM430's with a controller or autonomous?

Both are Autonomous

Ok, I got the IPs now. I was talking to my friend, would all I need to do is just set them as different channels (eg. one as channel 6 and the other channel 11) and it will be fine?

Hello,

I have made one AP Channel 6 and the other Channel 11

They overlap a bit (signals) but it does not seem to be a seemless transition. Is there any way to configure it better or is this as good as it gets?

Without a controller that is probably as good as its gonna get. With a controller you can make use of distributed key caching etc which will enable seamless roaming.
