Move GMS database from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008R2

I have to move my gms database from SQL 2005 server to a sql 2008R2 cluster!

I have detached the database on the sql 2005 server, copied the db-files to the sql 2008R2 instance and attached it there, created a user called gms that have db_owner and db_creator rights in the gms database.

My problem is that when i try to connect the gms software to the new database i get an error! gms can not connect to the database, i even get the same error trying to connect to the database with the sa user.

Tested to connect to the database via an odbc connection with both sa and the specific gms user and it worked fine.

Does gms 5.4.0.0 support sql 2008R2 cluster, how do i type the host name in the gms configuration?

Anybody having any suggestions
