automatic channels assignement

hello,

can the MSM 760 set the frequency on the APs(MSM410) automatically taking into account the neighboring used channels?

can it choose among a group of predefined frequencies for example: 1,6,11

i am currently on the middle of a project(300 AP), the common channel frequencies of all the installed AP was automatically set by the controller to channel 6!

shouldn't the controller assign other available channel to minimize interference in between AP.

you help is highly appreciated:)

hi Toni

default configuration channel send by automatically (different radio channel all access point)

but if you setting under ap group manualy channel setings all access point running same channel this decision very bad for wireless performance.

for example
if your access point under default group
check configuration under wireless setings page

do you mean the controller should automatically assign different channels(1,6,11 for ex) to all AP.in our case the controller has automatically assigned channel 6 to all the installed AP.

can you please help me with a detailed procedure if there is specific configuation on the controller

all ap (on the controller)default configuration channel state automatic selection

if your ap's clear inherited check box and set manualy radio channel 6 all ap broadcast radio channel 6

please check radio state ap's

which version are you using?

our version is 5.3!

comparing to your screenshot we do not have DFS under channel.

1)the inherited box is checked on all the APs.

2) under the default group , i have configured the following:

operating mode:Access Point only

wirless mode:802.11b/g/n

channel:Automatic

interval:time of day

Automatic Channel Exclution list: channel 2,3,4,5,7,8(in this case the controller should use channel 1,6,9)

the other parameters are left as default..

so do you think its a configuration or version issue?

please let me know if there is something wrong in my config.
