to be able to ping VLAN 1 ip address which is as you mentioned 10.0.0.252 255.255.255.0 you need to have an ip address from the same range of the subnet 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0
mean an ip address from 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.0.254 on your device,

the other way is to have a router or switch with routing capabilities ( layer 3 switch ) to enable routing between vlans

Hi guys,

I configured my MSM with VLANs on the internet port. What I would like to do is configure VLAN 1 as a management interface as well.

I configured an IP for VLAN 1 10.0.0.252 with subnet 255.255.255.0 but I cant ping it or access the interface.

Is there something I am doing wrong here?

Thanks for all the help

which ip address you put on the device you are using to ping ?

You must be in the same VLAN 1 and have ip address from the same subnet.
Thanks for replying

For my LAN port I use 192.168.1.1

For my internet port I use it just for VLAN(s), my IP for my vlan is 10.10.1.4 /24

Other devices on that VLAn can't ping 10.10.1.4 which is kind of odd. If I set to assign via DHCP it assigns the IP.

Any thoughts on what I can do.

Thanks
