Hi,

We are using MSM430 AP's with an MSM775 controller.

We have successfully set up a guest VSC with HTML authentication. We configured the HTML authentication page to use HTTPS instead of HTTP. For this we used a self-signed certificate created by the controller.

When clients (guests) connect to the wireless network and try to browse the internet, they are automatically transfered to the login page - so far so good.

But when they are transfered, they receive a warning from their browser about the security certificate that couldn't be verified (because it is self-signed).

My question is: how do we resolve this? I know that the easy answer is "use a valid certificate, stupid", but how exactly do we do that? We won't be able to buy a certificate for the domain "wireless.hp.internal" as we don't own that domain!

Looking forward to anyones ideas...

If you obtain a signed SSL certificate, from a certification authority, the MSM controller will automatically change the guest domain name from wireless.hp.internal to the value of the common name specified in the SSL certificate.

Considering how challenging MSM configuration can be, this is the one this that is too easy.
