Hi. Thx for the reply.

This does not seem to be the case.

MSM430 reset to factory defaults

back onto the network and IP obtained from DHCP - 10.0.0.32 (reply to pings OK)

http logon and switch to Anunymous mode - > auto restart

10.0.0.32 no longer available (no reply to pings) and not accessible via http/https

no new leases obtained in DHCP server

The unit is simply not to be found on the network

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thx

P.S. Only one DHCP server on this VLAN

Hi,

The most basic functionality appears to be broken

Brand new MSM430

plugged intto the network and IP obtained via DHCP

web access and swicth to Autonomous mode

based on the instructions MSM430 now should be accessible via 192.168.1.1 - it is not

someone on this forum posted that his MSM430 was accessible (aftyer switch to autonomous) under 192.168.0.X. I scanned entire 192.168.0 range and nothing was found but my two test computers

VLAN connectivity is not an issue

I don't have RJ45 serial adapter to connect directloy but if no help witrhy IP is presented I might need to get one to gain access to the device. Wil take few days. Bummer

Thx for any pointers

Hello

The serial interface isn't useful for users anyway. The root cause for this is here: "plugged intto the network and IP obtained via DHCP".

When you connect an MSM AP to the network, it will first try to get an IP address from DHCP server. If it doesn't get one, it will fall back to default IP 192.168.1.1. Check the DHCP server to find out what IP address was assigned to the AP. You should reach it by that IP.

Here is the light sequence after the restart:

1,2,3 solid from the left, 4 dark

2 went out

then blinking on 1, (2, 3, 4 went dark)

1 solid. After a period of time 2 started blinking with 1 on solid.

But I found the WAP on the netwoprk. It obtained an IP from DHCP but used different MAC address now.

Thx for your help

Martin

Hi Martin

If it's working now, great. Glad to be able to help :-)

In general with MSM devices; if you have a problem situation check the LED behavior after it's had power for a few minutes. That blinking sequence gives good information concerning what the device is doing - is it looking for an IP address, or controller, or something else is happening.

Hope it goes well from here on.
