topic MSM760 controller with auto channel in M and MSM Series

I have been told not to use auto channel with the MSM410 AP's in controlled mode. From the radio settings I adjusted the auto to exclude all channels but 1,6,11. Has anyone else done anything similar and what was your experience from this adjustment? Thanks.

I know that at least with the MSM 422s, the MSM 760 controllers do not properly select auto channel. If you exclude 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, the APs are still likely to use one of those channels. This is even with the newer 5.5.3 code in my experience.

Really? I am running 5.4 code still. I attempted to upgrade to 5.5 at the end of August but it did NOT go well. I had AP's synching then randomly resynching all at once. It was a nightmare!

I moved a subsection of buildings to the above setup. I checked that they used either 1,6, or 11 and they were. Seems to be ok so far but I won't have a true test until the students come back from break.
