topic MSM760 not seeing any AP's in M and MSM Series

Apologies if this question has been posted elswhere. I have not found it si I thought I would put it out there.

We have used an MSM760 for a decade. I believe I know it fairly well. We have used it with numerous VLANS. We have a backup controller and have tried it for testing

My current challenge is that after moving the MSM controller and AP's to a new switch stack, with identical VLAn settings etc., the controller does not see any of the 40 access points. Well, correction, it sees them to assign an IP, but it does not list them under AP's, suspicious, configured or as anything.

ANY suggestions would be appreciated. Currently running software version: 6.6.8.1-23399

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

How are your aps set to find the controller? DHCP or static setting?

Have you tested connectivity eg ping controller from ap vlan?

How do you know the aps recieve ip addresses?

I would guess a vlan tag was missed somewhere. Confirm by placing an ap on the same vlan as the controller.

Are you delivering your IP's to your Access points via Dhcp? If so consider this info and make sure you have this in DHCP on your Windows Srvr

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=mmr_kc-0132602

Vaughn
