How to copy firmware from MSM422 via CLI ? Can't find it on AP web interface.

Need help on how to copy firmware from MSM422 to tftp via CLI?

What password should i type in to gain access to Protected access to shell? Tried the admin password but failed. Tried the copy command but it said unknown command. Need it urgently to flash another MSM422 with the same older firmware that unavailable on HP Support. I need the older firmware since latest firmware V5.5.2.1_MR_V5.5.2.1_MSM422.cim cause issue on client connectivity to internet on my another MSM422 AP. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Why would you like to use the CLI to update the AP while you can use the web GUI interface to do it. bellow is the CLI guide for the MSM3xx and 4xx series.

the copy command is not supported on this divice

The AP can automatically retrieve and install firmware from a local or remote URL at preset
times. By placing AP firmware on a web or ftp server, you can automate the update process for
multiple units.
When the update process is triggered the AP retrieves the first 2K of the firmware file to determine
if it is different from the active version. If different, the entire firmware file is then downloaded
and installed.
(Different means older or newer. This enables you to return to a previous firmware version if
required).
Configuration settings are preserved during the update unless stated otherwise in the release
notes for the firmware. However, all active connections will be terminated. Customers will have to
log in again after the AP restarts

MSM access point web interface password and ssh password is a same

if you want loss password your access point you must have reset factory default settings this device

you cant copy the firmware from a AP to another AP. You can download the config and upload it to another AP but thats not the same thing as the firmware.

why dont you just get the firmware from HP site and install it?
