For a security reason you can present the PVOL/SVOL to any dummy port (only the host group, no WWN associated) this will prevent these LUNs to be presented to any host by mistake.<BR /><BR />In another configuration, your PVOLs can be presented to a live host (actually writing data to LUNs) and these LUNs can be managed from another host (say CommandView XP console, which already has CMD assigned to it via FC-HBA).<BR /><BR />Hope this helps.
