Has anyone ever run into a problem connecting a DL580 with two FC2101 HBA's to an XP512. The server is running Windows 2003 Server SP1. The problem that I am having is that the server hangs on boot up after the windows 2003 splash screeen. If I disconnect the fibre cable from the server it continues to boot correctly. I have updated all the firmware on the server, HBA's and updated drivers to the latest versions and to no avail. I have rechecked the configuration on the XP512 and Brocade switches. And from what I can gather everything looks fine. I have removed and replaced the HBA's and reconfigured everthing to the correct WWW and have zoned the Host and the XP512 on the brocade switches.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Robert:

Have you configured any LUN's for this new host and presented them to it on the XP512?

What about installing Authpath? or MPIO? I did not see you mention any of these.

It initially looks like the server may be timing out as the FCA's are joining the fabric and scanning for hardware. How long have you waited for them to boot while connected?

Steven

Steven,
I have assigned the LUNS on the XP512 and have installed Autopath. The server see's the storage but cannot mount it. When I install the updated scsi driver for the HBA's that's when the problem occurs.
