ioscan and SAM

Hello,

I remove XP12K storage from 2 of our servers but did not remove the servers from the XP12K.

Now when I run ioscan or try and look at my disk through SAM it just sits there searching for devices.

Do I need to remove the servers from the XP12K and switches also? Or is there a patch that I can install?

These are HP-UX servers.

What do you meant by removed XP12K storage from 2 servers(you mean you deleted the device files of the disks/ctl)- removed the Fiber cable attached to this array ?

Generally as a GOOD practice of SAN Mgmt . To Decomission a Server attached with SAN you need to remove the zoning in the Fabric and then remove Lun Masking done on the Fabric as well on the Array side.

In certain cases after doing the above you may need to use rmsf in the Host side to remove the device files which are belonging to the XP.
