Link between host and Tape Library

Host: DL380(Winodws 2000 server)

TapeLibrary: ESL712e

我在switch上面可以看到host的HBA，也可看到712e的intercace controller，但是主機無法透過裝置管理員scan到tape drive and media changer。



請問有沒有tool，可以偵測host and Tape Library之間的link是否ok?

Dear David,

ESL712e本身有Security path function.

您需要在ESL712e上把DL380 host include在它的 hostlist內,再mapping出去即可.



一般來說,ESL configuration 有兩個地方需要mapping,i.e.內部的tape/robotic device mapping 和對外的hosts list mapping.



所以請先從ESL端看能不能看到相關hosts,再export host mapping,PC應該就可以看到Tape/Lib special file了.

Dear David,



Configuring ESL-E series library need a Command View ESL that installed in Windows 2000/XP platform. So You have a management station that with Command View ESL installed.



Any new host want to access library/tapes, need to click CV-ESL, the Secure manager setting for new hosts that need to communicate with the library. If this step is not completed, no servers can communicate with the library or devices. By default, Secure manager prevent all hosts from accessing the library. You must configure Secure Manager to allow host access to the library.

Your new servers want access the libray/devices.

You can call our engineer for help. He will add new server name with detected wwn. Then click the devices (enable access) for the hosts.
