What would be the maximum number of LUN that can be created on 3PAR 8400 and 8440  ?

Go to Hewlett Packard Enterprise SPOCK, https://www.hpe.com/Storage/Spock/ and bookmark it. Under 3PAR, look at the 3PAR Support Matrix for your system's version of firmware. Then look at your system's particular model.
