3PAR - number of tasks record

Hello 3PAR minds,

As per the HP documentation, the system stores information for upto 1,000 tasks. I am in a situation. I received a notification stating the scheduled task (AO) failed to run. Returning from the public holidays (three days :), started to look for that task (showtask -d ## and showtask -t 120), couldn't locate it. I found each task actually creates lot of sub-tasks like move_region, etc. and fills up the #tasks and letting old record to disappear.

Is there any way to increase the number of tasks from 1,000?

It would be better if tasks are differentiated. Example: prarent/child or tasks/sub-tasks.

No.  What OS version do you have?  You could file an enhancement request.

I am running 3.1.2 MU3 P25.

The feature I can use to search for task filtering parent/primary tasks listed or child/sub tasks. Also there is some form of relationships. I have two AO policies and scheduler configured to run at different times overnight. Each AO calls move_regions. I queried my system how many region move task occurred, comes to 963. Because 3par limit is 1,000 in total, so the older records gets purged.

Where can I file the enhancement request?

3.1.3 rolls over the IDs at 29999 instead of 9999 but still only keeps the most recent 1000 tasks.

With a support contract, you should be able to contact the Response Center.
