Activity Log Won't Display

The activity log will not display in SSMC for the 3paradm and another user on the system.  It will display for my account and a new test account we created.  We deleted the none adm account and recreated to see if it would resolve the issue but that user is still unable to get the activity log to display.  Just flashed a couple spinning circles and the word "Top" on the screen.  We are at version 3.4.

 

Thanks for any guidance you could provide.

Off hand, it sounds like SSMC is confused.

  • Are you running the latest version (3.3.1 installation or 3.5 appliance)?
  • What local ID are you using in the SSMC administrator console to read from the 3PAR? Have you changed its password since adding the system?
  • Either log in to the SSMC Admin Console, remove the system and re-add, or
    Restart the SSMC service.

The applicance is 3.4.1 as stated above and the 3PAR O/S is 3.2.2.  Upgrade to 3.3.1 planned in the next month or so.  Waiting on HPE and our local VMWare guys for required checks.

Somewhat new to 3PAR so when  you say local ID I would have to say ssmcadmin is the account we use in the admin console and has the password been changed since adding the system.  If there is a default for that use it was changed from default but not 100% sure if it has been changed since we set up the system.

I did a restart of the SSMC service and the issue is still an issue.  I will see if we want to remove and re-add the system(s).   We have two systems configured and the issue exists for both systems.  I want to be clear this issue does not exist for all users.

Another question, when we setup the 3.4.1 SSMC appliance we defined the ssmcadmin password but I have no rememberance of setting up the root password for the system.  Is there a default root password, I'd like to get in there and look around at the file system to compare.

1. In addtion to the suggested steps of reconnecting the array(s), check if your users are members of a specific domain. (can be found under "Security-Users". 

2. upgrade to SSMC 3.5, if not done already.

3. There is NO root-login to the appliance. You can login as ssmcuser and exit to a shell, but you won´t be able to operate with root privileges.
