Both nodes on 7200 3PAR storage array are not working at all
Hello,
We had shutting down both nodes on 7200 3PAR SroreServ array for a maintenance activity at DC. After maintenance activity completed we switched on both PCMs but we got below LEDs appeared :
1. On PCMs: Solid Amber on Battery Fail LED, Solid green on PCM OK and Battery Good LEDs.
2. On both Nodes: Flashing Blue on Hot Plug LEDs and Flashing Amber on Fault LEDs.
3. On front Bezel LEDs: Solid Green on System Power LED, and solid Amber on Module fault LED.
4. On disks: We have only cage0 and all disks are off (All LEDs are Off).
5. Network ports: Off
I checked the output from the serial console port using grey adapter with PN 180-0055-01 with the blue ethernet cable, 8b-n-no flow control-57600 in Putty, Mfg port on top or down node, but nothing displayed.
Please advise.

Re: Both nodes on 7200 3PAR storage array are not working at all
The footprint you are describing indicates the nodes have a internal failure and both nodes will need to be replaced.
Please log a service call to get this addressed.

Re: Both nodes on 7200 3PAR storage array are not working at all
When the nodes are replaced, the original node disks must be moved to the replacement nodes.
The FE will also need to halt the node as it boots by typing ^w (control w) and then setting the system serail number on the nodes with the following command from Whack>
Whack> set perm sys_serial=7_digit_sn

Re: Both nodes on 7200 3PAR storage array are not working at all
Hello @Emad Omar
The symptom you have , need replacement of Both Node H/W but retain the original IDE drives in it.
Raise a call with HPE and get the Parts + CE at site.
One thing to remember is that, prior to boot UP the node, Need to ensure all the PROM settings are correct (sys serial number, Node ID,midplane type..) which CE should be aware of.
Thanks!

Re: Both nodes on 7200 3PAR storage array are not working at all
Dear Wesley,
thanks for this post - I have a similar problem.
got an older 3par 7200 at lab, one node went offline (wasn't regonized anymore on "shownode")
I tried to replace that node from a 2nd 3par - but the node won't get listed when i type "shownode".
the leds at the node indicate only a green light - so it's not joined the cluster.
Ethernet-Cables are connected (same vlan)
do I "only" need to login to serial port on replaced node and change with "set perm sys_serial" the serial-number to the system serial number?
thanks for your help in advance.
