Degraded FCoE port
Hi,
Our Proliant HPE DL380p Gen8 server is connecting to HPE 3Par 7200 array through HPE 5900 switch. Both NIC's on HPE Proliant are functioning, but FCoE port is degraded, so it must be HPE 3Par side that is not functioning?

Re: Degraded FCoE port
No
This means, the Port have no Link/Signal.
The Problem is between HBA Port and Switch. Port

Re: Degraded FCoE port
Thanks for quick reply
But the HPE 5900 switch and HP Proliant server are connected, the output from 5900 switch:
XGE1/0/12 UP 10G(a) F(a) T
XGE2/0/12 UP 10G(a) F(a) T
as you see in first photo above, both physical links are OK
I believe it's just the virtual interface of FCoE is not functioning:
this is from 5900 config (display current-configuration):
interface Vfc112
port trunk vsan 10
bind interface Ten-GigabitEthernet1/0/12
this is from 5900 config (display interface brief):
Interface Admin Admin Oper Status Bind Mode Trunk Mode Interface Mode
Vfc112 F on TF UP XGE1/0/12
I'm not very familiar with fibre channel and especialy this kind of virtual FC, but isn't this from storage side problem? But then the 5900 switch should show that virtual FC interface is down, still don't get it.

Re: Degraded FCoE port
Here are available two path to the same WWN from 3par perspective:
Still not clear, 2 ports and 4 lights, what are first two lights indicating?

Hmm, your two ports say FC and not FCoE.

Not sure if FCoE has zoning? That may be why the array sees the switch but Proliant doesn't?
