Disk replacement

Hello

I have failure disk and I replaced, and show to me normal, I have some questions related to that:

1/Is there other method i can verify the new disk is working fine other than show normal in console GUI,

2/the new disk F/W is different than old one, so is that will cause any issue/degraded for efficiency?

3/ when i issue this command " showpd -c ID" to new disk, I can see " Fail" "OK" "free" values are zero, is that normal because all other disks show non-zero values

                             -------- Normal Chunklets -------- ---- Spare Chunklets ----
                             - Used -- -------- Unused -------- - Used - ---- Unused ----
Id CagePos Type State  Total   OK Fail Free Uninit Unavail Fail OK  Fail Free Uninit Fail
55 7:30  FC   normal  2234 1044    0 1190      0       0    0  0     0    0      0    0
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 1 total                2234 1044    0 1190      0       0    0  0     0    0      0    0

4/when issue command "showpd -space", it show to me "spare" value are zero, all other disks are non-zero, is that normal?

 showpd -space 20
                        ------------------(MB)-------------------
Id CagePos Type -State-   Size Volume Spare   Free Unavail Failed
55 7:30 FC   normal  571904 267264     0 304640       0      0
-----------------------------------------------------------------
 1 total                571904 267264     0 304640       0      0

Thanks

showpd -s -failed -degraded will show the bad disks.  If normal, the PDs are fine.

No, the PDs should have the latest FW for that model, automatically.

Yes, there is a limited number of failed chunklets before the drive is marked as failed.

It doesn't seem like it.  You can run "admithw" to create spares.
