What are the functions performed by Control Cache and Data Cache?
Is there any documentation that details what functions are performed by the Cache Control and by the Data Cache and why the difference in size between them?

Re: What are the functions performed by Control Cache and Data Cache?
Well now that you know Data and Control Cache, you can also know what is adaptive cache used in 3PAR?
Refer the below weblink to know that:

Re: What are the functions performed by Control memory and Cache memory?
Control memory is just regular CPU memory. The Data cache stores the I/O requests before they are written and satisfies read requests.
shownode will list the sizes.

Re: What are the functions performed by Control Cache and Data Cache?
Thanks Dennis in this way I can conclude that the InformOS uses the Cache Control for its operation, File Persona and Compression also use the Cache Control. In the 8000 family how much of the control cache is dedicated to Inform OS?

Cache memory is used for user data.
> File Persona and Compression also use Control memory.
Yes.
> how much of control memory is dedicated to HPE 3PAR OS?
If you have File Persona installed, 8 GiB is reserved. All of the rest is for the OS.
