eva to 3par migration (how to add a 3par in CV?)

So, i'm somewhat stuck when trying to add a 3par system as destination in command view.

When adding i get the message

"unlicensed destination storage system. install peer motion license on destination storage system"

from there i went to this link:

HP 3PAR Peer Motion Manager Software: https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=3PARPMM

and downloaded it.

Looking inside the package "Peer_Motion_Manager_1.2.0_Software_QR584-10503" i find only two files and actually, i don't know what to do with it.

Starting the pmm.bat tries to run offcli, which i don't have so it does nothing and the pmm.tcl looks like a shell script that one has probably to run from the 3par cli.

But, do i have to edit this tcl before, where can i enter some license, how to use this ?

Or am i on the totally wrong path for migration eva->3par ?

Hi

When you Get a new 3par 7200 or 7400 you get 60 days peer motion license for EVA to 3par migration

otherwise you have to talk to HP

you need this license for migration

Hi giladzzz,

will probably have to ask our distributor about the license.

But what about this strange script ?

How to use this ?

Do i even need it ?

Hi

you don't need it

all you need is peer motion license

command view 10.2

and 3par version 3.1.2

you can check on SPOCK site

Just FYI, the Peer Motion Manager scripts are only for 3PAR-to-3PAR volume migration.
