No more release notes displayed for product "HPE 3PAR Operating System Software"

Hello, we are used to, every now and then, checking the product page of "HPE 3PAR Operating System Software", Subpage "documents", for new release notes, implementation guides and so on. Currently, for example, we are awaiting the release of sp 5.0.7.

Since this week, the list of docs on this page went down from hundreds to some 42. One doc from 2020, two from 2019, rest from 2018.

I checked if my bookmark is out of date (there's a notice about this), but even if I navigate there "handish", same result.

is this on purpose? Does anybody else see this?

Hi @apol

I think they're being moved to Knowledge Base section of Documentation and Software - give a try here: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/search#t=All&sort=relevancy

I was recently looking for release notes of Cluster Extension Software 6.1.1 for 3PAR and found it there.

Cheers,
Dardan

Hi Dardan, thank you. Unfortunately, that's exactly where I was looking...

Try the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Information Library (https://www.hpe.com/info/storage/docs). Change the first green bar, "Products & Solutions", to "3PAR StoreServ Storage".
521 results as I write this, including 314 Release Notes.

Re: No more release notes displayed for product "HPE 3PAR Operating System Software"

Hi, I know about the Storage Information Library.

I preferred the other link, as it's just sorted by date and not by categorie as well. Makes quick looking over it easier. And, as in this case, the dates aren't always correct: there IS the release notes file for current sp 5.0.6.1, but the date of the file is still December 2019 - if 5.0.7 (we need it for rda) would come out, I wouldn't notice. And the other Website is here for a reason - my initial question was why it stopped working as it did the last months or years.

I just checked: Manuals for Primera still do contain all current release notes. I tried changing the product to "3PAR 9000 Storage" (manuals for product "HPE 3PAR Operating System Software" stopped working, while"HPE Primera 600 Storage" still works), but that did not help.

Re: No more release notes displayed for product "HPE 3PAR Operating System Software"

Hi Apol,

I dont have an exact answer why the 'release notes' listing changed in the URL (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/1008793289/Product#t=Documents). But rather support URL, the one shared by Sheldon (https://www.hpe.com/info/storage/docs) is the right URL for release notes and related documents.

However there are many release notes available in 'Reference Guide' section as well in https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/1008793289/Product#t=Documents.

Regards,

Srini

Re: No more release notes displayed for product "HPE 3PAR Operating System Software"

Hello,

weird:

My link (old one to https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home/documentHome?pmasr=2&sort_by=date&sp4ts.oid=1008793289) is redirected to

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/1008793289/Product#t=Documents&sort=relevancy&layout=table&numberOfResults=25&f:@kmdoclanguagecode=[cv1871440]&hpe=1

and does not work. 43 documents over all, 15 of them reference.

Your link ( https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/1008793289/Product#t=Documents) is redirected to the exact same location https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/1008793289/Product#t=Documents&sort=relevancy&layout=table&numberOfResults=25&f:@kmdoclanguagecode=[cv1871440]&hpe=1

and DOES work - 805 documents, 257 reference. Seems like through redirecting, some weird extra comes into: Through your link, the website (not documents!) is displayed in english, through my link in german,

Re: No more release notes displayed for product "HPE 3PAR Operating System Software"

What's weirder is when I try your old link (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home/documentHome?pmasr=2&sort_by=date&sp4ts.oid=1008793289) I get redirected to
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/1008793289/Product#t=Documents&sort=%40hpescuniversaldate%20descending&layout=table&numberOfResults=25&f:@kmdoclanguagecode=[cv1871440]&hpe=1 -- 805 documents.
Which I'm assuming is due to the joys of browser, cookies and cache.
That's why I tend to put root links, for example, https://www.hpe.com/info/storage/docs and then the basic clicks necessary to drill to the document like above. With things as big as the information and support libraries, things tend to get moved around.
