Stopping Remote Copy While Volume is in Syncing State

I have a RC group with 20 volumes and one volume is stuck at 0%. If I stop the RC group, a warning pops up about the destination volume will get promoted.

 

Will is affect the source volume if I proceed?  My RC configuration has been rock solid  and not sure why this one volume is stuck at 0% and showrcopy sync status is = syncing.

 

Please help
