On Friday May 18th the HPE “Juntos” Hispanic Employee Resource Group (ERG) from the San Francisco/Bay Area hosted about 25 Hispanic students from all over the South Bay for "Lideres” Youth Fellowship visit.

The “Lideres” Youth Fellowship is a 7-month, after school course that introduces Latino students to tech, business, career exploration and more. The program is led and provided by Yacanex, a non-profit organization that focuses on economic development for Latino communities.

The purpose of this event was to receive the students that are part of this year’s Lideres class and provide them a better sense of what it is like to work for a leading company in the tech industry.

Apart from providing the opportunity to see the facilities, the idea is to build an experience that would help their professional growth.

On this visit, the goal was to give students a tour of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and have them experience “a day in the life” of working in a high-tech organization.  Many notable executives visited the group including HPE chief legal counsel Willie Hernandez, and the HPE college intern recruiting team. Cindy Healy from Microsoft was the SKYPE conference keynote and HPE Aruba's President, Keerti Melkote took some time to address the students.

Speaking on the students experience that day, the Juntos ERG leadership remarked, "The students were very impressed, excited, and eager to participate and inspired.  We plan to have this be the first of many events going forward."

The members of Juntos as well other Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) employee resource groups have the opportunity participate in different activities related to volunteering, community impact, career development, employee engagement, talent attraction and business impact within HPE among others.

Juntos is a Hewlett Packard Enterprise employee resource group focused on supporting Hispanic and Latino professionals across the San Francisco Bay Area by promoting inclusion and diversity while providing opportunities for these professionals to achieve a successful career on Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
