How did you get started?
I’ve always been interested in emerging technologies and those early model computers and electronics led me to pursue IT and turn a passion into a career. From there, I began to specialize in networking, mobility and more recently Internet of Things (IoT) via early data transmission experiences and was fortunate enough to experience Australia’s first Ethernet (Digital Corp - An HP company) deployment."

What do you see the benefits of being a Master ASE?

"Achieving a Master ASE is a validation of many years’ experience with a broad range of HPE and industry technologies. It’s a validation the channel community can lend to build credibility with their customers. Particularly in those emerging technology spaces like IoT or Software Define Network (SDN) where the channel is a little unsure of best practice.

IT professionals can look to a Master ASE and know that the information they’re getting is accurate and reliable, partners need that certainty to make educated decisions when steering their business."

What is your favourite HPE technology?
"Anything powering the Intelligent Edge! If I had to name one, the Aruba Networks switching product.

The simplicity and value offered to the end user on these are unparalleled and can form a key component in those emerging technology spaces like IoT where people are looking for a reliable name in something of an unknown space."

Any interesting customer stories you would like to share?
"Channel partners are always seeking differentiation and profitability; this search is pushing more of those involved in the networking and mobility to seek out new solution areas like IoT. IoT as a technology has been around for many years. The problem is that in many cases partners are seeking answers when they don’t necessarily even know the questions to ask yet.

Arrow’s fortunate to combine our own Components, Intelligent Systems and Enterprise Computing Division (which includes HPE), we have the people and the knowledge to advise partners or their customers it doesn’t need to be the great unknown, that new technology trends can be built on proven, reliable systems such HPE/Aruba and Arrow IOT components. With this co-operation, we’re creating unique solutions and much sought after profitability for the partner community.

We know in the new world of IT everything will be connected, it’s up to those of us with the knowledge to help others make it a profitable journey."

What's your tip for others interested in HPE certifications?
"Certifications are the way to demonstrate your gained knowledge. A way to differentiate your people and a proven method of saying to prospects, yes we can do that. If you’re looking to stand up with credibility, certifications are a must. So I’d say, make the move, get yourself certified and you’ll not look back. Plus, if you’re unsure, you can prepare yourself by working with Master ASEs like me who are here for the channel."

As a Master ASE, you will be recognized as having reached the pinnacle in HPE Certifications. Customers will rely on you to bring rich technical skills to design and implement their most complex solutions. You’ll also see personal and business rewards while being able to network and share with one of the most exclusive teams in the industry.
