Super Six in Diversity - HPE ranks #1 in German's Women Career Index for sixth consecutive year
We are thrilled to announce that for the sixth year in a row we ranked first in Germany’s Women Career Index, this time sharing the top position with Accenture. The consequent follow-through of our change process, the constant adjustments and new creative approaches decided in our favor. HPE was particularly recognized for its long-term commitment to gender diversity and the consequent development and implementation of programs to promote women careers.
Balancing gender especially in management is a strategic corporate goal for us because it increases our competitiveness. Quotas are not sufficient to achieve this goal which is why we are pushing ahead with our change process that will ultimately make women careers a matter of fact. To accelerate this process we recently introduced the DACH & Russia Female Sponsorship Program because women careers need strategic alliances with influential men and women. This program bundles all intentions of the change process in order to overcome the remaining barriers of women willing to develop into a leadership role.
The participation in Germany‘s Women Career Index is open to every company. Until today approximately 200 companies applied for the index, all of which compete with us for the best ranks. The Federal Ministry of Family Affairs launched the Women Career Index in 2013 in order to objectively and independently examine the promotion prospects of women in German companies and to highlight engaged companies as role models. With 90 out of a total of 100 points we again succeeded in leading the index and were able to maintain last year's outstanding results. This is 7 points above the average of the index’ TOP 25.
The award ceremony took place on 8th March 2019 at the headquarters of Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich. HPE was represented by Eva Faenger, Inclusion and Diversity Manager DACH & Russia, Margit Nickstat, HR Country Manager Germany, and Ann-Sophie Maucher, Bachelor Student of HPE Dual Study. By proxy of Dr. Franziska Giffey, head of the German Ministry of Family Affairs, State Secretary Juliane Seifert awarded the winning companies with a certificate and a trophy for their engagement.
