This is an exciting week for the HPAnywhere team and HP Software. The HP Discover event is around the corner (June 11-13) and more than 10 apps development projects arrive at the finish line during the week of June 3, where all the apps are uploaded to the demo server and are ready for display in the demo booths.

Here’s a peek into three apps the team has been working on for the last few months:

Coffee App

This app was developed together with our wonderful partner DoItWise. It is an internal application for one of the development sites in Israel, hosting more than 1000 employees. It will be deployed in the local coffee shop on the campus and will allow employees order coffee takeaways or request a delivery to a conference room.

The application is integrated with a printer located in the coffee shop where coffee orders are printed automatically with the order. Using HPAnywhere platform capabilities, a conversation can be initiated between the employee and the barista in the context of the order. The coolest part about this app is the user interface; it wasn’t easy getting there as you can see from the sketches evolution, but it was worth it!

 Find a Room

When we asked the employees in the development campus which app they would like to have, the answer was almost unanimous: an app to see conference rooms. The app allows users to see which rooms are available now and book them in the exchange server. Their wish was our command. The app was created to both create fresh approach to booking conference rooms and to establish a connection to the exchange server backend system – located in the secure environment of the enterprise. The application has some cool animation when booking the room and you can extend the booking by an extra 30 minutes by turning the device upside down (like a sand watch).

ALM/QC Defect Submitter

Last but not least, HPSW portfolio is being modernized on top of the mobile platform. BSM, ALM, SM, XS, PPM all are in different development cycles of creating their own apps on top of the leading solutions. The ALM Defect submitter is a great example of simplicity – where app answers a need by submitting an issue/defect/malfunction with few clicks.

Behind the scenes a powerful admin app helps to map the fields to the real QC fields and sends in the background additional information which is gathered automatically. The UI of this app also received a facelift and in the movie you can see an early version before the UI changes.
