Webinar announcement – “What’s new in HP’s automated testing suite”

RonitSoen ‎11-10-2012 12:02 PM - edited ‎09-18-2015 01:22 PM

For most IT organizations, the testing team is an extremely valuable asset in-charge of launching high quality and low risk products to the company’s customers. The automated testing team is perceived as one of the most efficient and cost effective testing team, consisting of technical testers with programing skills scripting repeatable tests with the highest depth and test coverage. As opposed to manual testing, automated testing can run at the same time on multiple operating systems with different configurations, look into an application and see memory contents, data tables, file contents, and internal program states to determine if the product is behaving as expected.

However, as the IT organization switches over to agile development using the scrum framework and applying continuous integration practices, this elite team really struggles with how to incorporate traditional automated testing strategies into the agile world.

On one hand agile practices and high levels of change increase the need for automation. Application teams should test more, test faster and test continuously. On the other hand, it requires testing earlier, even when there’s no GUI, even when the application is headless. On top of that, today’s fast pace of change results in complex multi-layer applications or composite applications with more integration points and embedded third party services and also a myriad of new technologies that are constantly introduced to the market. That raises many challenges for automation engineers.

Today’s challenges for automation engineers:

-       What’s the best way to test GUI and services repeatedly?

-       Is there an efficient way to test the end to end business process including the integration points repeatedly?

-       Which processes and capabilities to add in order to be more productive when testing mobile apps?

-       How to accommodate new technologies seamlessly?

The biggest question of all is how can automated testing remain efficient and not become too expansive or difficult to implement in this new world of application development?

Announcing HP Unified Functional Testing - HP UFT 11.5

Being the leader in automated testing solutions and built on the foundation of Quick Test Pro (QTP), this week HP has announced HP Unified Functional Testing (HP UFT) version 11.5.

HP UFT 11.5 is designed to solve the above mentioned challenges and equip automated testing engineers with a new rich toolset of capabilities for automated testing, mobile testing, as well as frameworks and accelerators for packaged applications unmatched today in the industry.

HP UFT Insight for Image Based Automation

Thanks to this new release of HP UFT, automated test sets such as smoke tests and regression tests can be included in

nightly builds and be part of continuous integration processes. Thanks to integration with open source systems, tests can be tailored to perfectly support the organizations’ methodologies and be used by testers and developers as well to provide higher ROI for both teams. A personal invitation to join HP UFT 11.5 launch webinar

I’d like to invite you to join the “What’s New” webinar for UFT 11.5 to discover a new world of modern test automation, a world where test automation is based on visualized and graphical operation instead of scripting, a world where test automation addresses all levels of software development, both services, headless and GUI and a world of many new cool shortcuts that make software testing more productive and fun. We took software automation to a new level by automating everything that is too time consuming so software engineers would be able to focus on what really matters.
