Discover the new DL320e Gen8 V2!

Let’s discover what’s new with this powerful server.

There is a great need for industry standard server capability in areas other than the traditional rack. From specialized applications in manufacturing, communications, and even transportation, customers have been asking for a compact server that they could easily deploy which still had the performance to support their varied workloads. Today, we want to tell you about a great solution for these cases, the DL320e Gen8 v2, a one-processor short rack server designed to fit into non-traditional rack spaces. Whether the customer is enterprise or small business, a retail chain or even an industrial manufacturer, this compact server can fill their needs.

The way this server can fill the needs of so many different customers, is because it has been designed to offer a wide range of configuration choices. For storage, customers have the Hot Plug option, with the choice of either four small form factor or two large form factor drives, with SATA RAID as a standard feature. The customization doesn’t stop there, customers can also choose advanced SAS RAID with 512MB Cache performance. An embedded dual 1GbE NIC is standard, but customers have a variety of other networking option going up to 10GbE.

With this level of configurability, customers can choose the computing power they require for whatever their specific application may be. The DL320e Gen8 v2 also has HP’s iLO Management Engine built in. Because of the DL320e Gen8 v2’s compact size, customers can use it in areas we can’t even begin to predict, and iLO gives it the ability to be deployed and managed from a remote site. With iLO, customers can do anything they need to do remotely, other than changing a spare part.

Built-in data protection features

Reliability you can count on

Embedded management features

Easier installation, configuration, management, and maintenance

However, have no worries, we’ve also thought of that! Because of the target market of the DL320e Gen8 v2, serviceability needed to be a key design requirement. This server offers tool-less access to all components including memory, hard drives, and PCI slots. This is extremely important because, in the case of a remote deployment, customers may not always have access to the needed tools, and often times may not even have a technician nearby. Easy serviceability allows for component replacement by even a less technical person. This attention to detail is what sets the DL320e Gen8 v2 apart from any other server in its class.

While the DL320e Gen8 v2 has been designed to support a range of operating systems to fit all customers’ needs, we recommend pairing it with Windows Server 2012 Foundation edition, the newest iteration of the leading general-purpose server OS for up to 15 users.

To complete your solution we recommend the HP iLO Advanced license or for smaller businesses just needing remote access the HP iLO Essentials license is just right for your IT needs.
