Enable end-to-end security with HPE and Microsoft

When Microsoft released Windows Server 2022, the company added a lot of next-generation capabilities to its popular operating system (OS). With data protection and cyber security top of mind for most businesses these days, itโ€™s not surprising that Microsoft introduced a whole new concept in security with the Secured-core server program, in partnership with HPE.

HPE and Microsoft recognize that security is fundamental to success. However, there is no single solution that can protect everything, everywhere, all the time. Thatโ€™s why the Secured-core program was developed. The HPE and Microsoft alliance means that we work closely together to align our product development with our customersโ€™ evolving business challenges, such as cybersecurity. We have teams dedicated to collaborating on the development of the next generation of operating system and hardware to ensure alignment.

The Secured-core feature combines hardware, firmware, and driver capabilities to provide defense-in-depth protection against advanced threats. HPE provides certified Secured-core server hardware with additional security protections against sophisticated attacks in some of the most data sensitive industries. Secured-core servers from HPE use a combination of hardware features, firmware enablement and Windows Server operating system capabilities to provide protection against current and future malware and rootkit security exploits.

Secured-core servers provide higher levels of protection for operating environments, from the boot process to data in memory. At a high level, Secured-core server is built on three key pillars: simplified security, advanced protection, and preventative defense.

  • Simplified securityโ€”First, simply buying HPE servers that support Secured-core provides the assurance that the hardware, firmware, and drivers meet Microsoft requirements. Using Windows Admin Center (WAC) security functionality, you can enable these capabilities easily and get advanced security with the click of a button from any web browser.
  • Advanced protectionโ€”Secured-core servers protect against current and future threats using a combination of advanced protection technologies such as hardware root-of-trust, firmware protection, and virtualization-based security.
  • Preventative defenseโ€”Security mitigations are built into HPE Secured-core servers and Windows Server 2022 to help protect common attack vectors, closing the door on the many paths attackers may try to exploit.

The Windows Server 2022 Secured-core OS deployment option is available on select HPE ProLiant, Apollo, and Synergy Gen10 Plus models with Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC processors that have been enabled to support this key set of security features.
