Keep SMBs protected & enable remote working with Windows Server 2019 & free iLO Advanced licenses
When crises occur, cyber crime doesn't stopโฆ in fact, it usually increases. Now, it is as important as ever to ensure organizationsโ IT infrastructures are secure! To help customers, HPE is offering HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) Advanced free of charge for all customers and partners through December 31, 2020. Utilizing HPE iLO Advanced and Windows Server 2019, customers can benefit from advanced security and smart remote functionality without compromise for HPE ProLiant Servers
Cyber-Security
HPE iLO Advanced licensing unlocks a marquee of security features offered by HPE ProLiant servers such as directory integration and 2 factor- authentication that complement the security features which are a part of the base server offering. HPE iLO Advanced enhanced security features include:
- Unparalleled transit and endpoint tamper detection.
- HPE iLO Advanced provides Directory Service Authentication that allows for user-password policies to be inherited from a directory without the need to update user-password setting in each server.
- Common Access Card (CAC)/Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card based 2-factor authentication (available on HPE Gen10 Server portfolios and later).
- Kerberos authentication provides dual authentication allowing users to log in once and navigate between servers.
When Windows Server 2019 is added to the equation, security can become even stronger with features that pair up with iLO Advanced security features to create an impenetrable fortification. One advanced security feature of Windows Server 2019 is Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)Exploit Guard, a set of host-intrusion prevention capabilities. The four components of Windows Defender Exploit Guard are designed to lock down the device against a wide variety of attack vectors and block behaviors commonly used in malware attacks, while enabling organizations to balance security risk and productivity requirements.
Remote Functionality
To further support businesses during this time, the HPE iLO Advanced license provides users with remote accessibility. The Integrated Remote Console feature that is unlocked by this license lets users operate on the server from anywhere, anytime. In addition, Remote Desktop Services, included in Windows Server 2019, accelerates and extends virtual desktop and application deployments to any device, improving efficiency of employees working remotely, while helping keep critical intellectual property secure and simplifying regulatory compliance. Remote Desktop Services enables virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) as well as session-based desktops and applications, allowing users to work anywhere. For organizations to take advantage of RDS, ensure they have the right licensing.
