Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 and HPE ProLiant DL Servers
Looking for a server solution for your small to medium sized business (SMB)? We think your perfect solution can be found by combining the intelligence of HPE ProLiant Gen9—the world’s most self-sufficient servers—with the virtualization and scalability of the Microsoft ® Windows® Server 2012 R2. This pairing provides you with integrated hardware and software solutions that automate IT lifecycle, accelerate workloads, optimize energy, and help assure availability to deliver the applications your business demands.
Did you know that HPE Microsoft OEM licenses for Windows Server 2012 R2 are available worldwide in several different languages and can be purchased directly from HPE or through your local authorized HPE reseller? The HPE OEM licensing program is designed for SMBs requiring Windows Server 2012 R2 OS with their preferred choice of HPE ProLiant Server.
Windows Server 2012 R2 is available in four editions designed to suit a variety of customer’s needs: Foundation, Essentials, Standard, and Datacenter. For SMBs who want to have a physical or lightly virtualized environment, Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard edition is a good choice. This edition enables you to run up to two virtual instances of Windows Server with each license and provides all the same features as Datacenter edition. The licensing for Standard edition is a processor plus CAL model, with each license covering up to two physical processors on a single server.
What ProLiant Servers can SMBs pair with Windows Server Standard? Great question! The HPE ProLiant DL60 Gen9 and DL80 Gen9 servers are two options for SMBs to pair with Windows Server Standard edition. These servers are designed with affordable storage, networking, processor scalability, and manageability for cost-conscious SMBs. Both servers support up to two (2) Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v3 processors, offering improved performance and efficiency.
