Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 downgrades end of life announcement
Per Microsoft End of Sales (EOS) dates, Windows Server 2012 R2 Operating System (OS) licenses from HPE will no longer be eligible to receive a downgrade kit after December 31st, 2017.
Downgrades provided through HPEโs Windows Server Media and Downgrades fulfillment website https://ebiz3.mentormediacorp.com/HPEDGRCR will be available for Windows Server 2012 R2 only until 12/31/2017.
Customers who have purchased a Windows Server 2016 OS license from HPE will still be able to request downgrades directly from HPE or through the Windows Server Media and Downgrades fulfillment website listed above.
When products reach key end of life dates such as this, it is a good time for Reseller Partners to check in with customers to see if their needs have changed. Customersโ businesses may have grown, so they now require additional server licensing, or they may be ready to refresh their server infrastructure with modern hardware and a modern operating system.
The Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Microsoft partnership combines technologies to help businesses reach their full potential and operate with increased agility. Pairing Microsoft Windows Server 2016 with HPE ProLiant Gen10 Servers gives customers extra layers of security built in and higher resiliency and performance capabilities for their server infrastructures.
