Modernizing IT for real with HPE and VMware

There’s only one problem with the term “modernizing IT.”  It seems to indicate that it’s a linear process that eventually comes to a conclusion. While that may have been the case a few years ago, today’s realities dictate that modernization must be a permanent, on-going, almost day-by-day initiative. Technology, the marketplace, business imperatives and more are moving much too fast for it to be anything else.

Is on-going on-target?

The questions is: can enterprises really afford the cost and potential disruption of constant modernization? The answer is: “Of course not.”  But there is an answer … and it’s called Disaggregated Hyperconverged Infrastructure or dHCI.

dHCI offers the simplicity, flexibility, and agility that make modernizing your VMware environment on-the-go possible. Learn more by visiting the HPE area at VMworld 2020 from September 29 – October 1 – less than a week away. We encourage you to register for the event today

Compute and storage on a roll

Because we work so closely with VMware on the joint solutions we offer, we are able to create dHCI solutions that deliver top performance today and are flexible and scalable enough to adapt quickly to changes that might occur, no matter how fast. Here are a few examples.

Drastically simplifying vSAN Ready Node implementation - HPE offers the certified, pre-configured, and easy-to order HPE vSAN Ready Node for the on the HPE ProLiant DL300-series servers to provide the fastest path to optimized workloads. The configurations are optimized to provide ideal performance on these four workloads:

  • Virtualization
  • Data management and processing
  • Accelerated infrastructure
  • Data warehousing

Focusing on business vs. IT management

Since its launch, HPE Nimble Storage dHCI has become known for its ability to deliver the simplicity that VM admins need when it comes to managing their unpredictable workloads. It has also proven its ability to let them focus less on managing their infrastructure and more on accelerating their business.

Recently, HPE announced some new and exciting features for HPE Nimble Storage dHCI that facilitate and simplify modernization, including:

  • Consume virtual machines as-a-service - You get a cloud experience that allows you to pay as you consume with infrastructure managed for you, lowering your total cost of ownership (TCO). As-a-service also means accelerating your time to value and simplifying your IT management.
  • Expanded server options for more flexibility - The HPE ProLiant AMD DL325, DL385, DL560 and DL580 servers are now all be supported for HPE Nimble Storage dHCI. HPE has also increased the supported node count from 20 to 32 servers, so VM admins will be able to use HPE Nimble Storage dHCI to support larger workloads.
  • One-click upgrades - HPE customers now get simplified lifecycle management with one-click, unified software upgrades for server firmware, hypervisor, and storage software, saving IT productivity time and de-risking upgrades.

Server solutions that are on fire

This is definitely hot news. Thanks to its use of the latest AMD EPYC high-core count processors, the HPE SimpliVity 325 doubles the number of virtual desktops while cutting costs in half. It’s an ideal choice for distributed enterprises looking for an intelligent edge solution and/or virtual desktop work streams. It is also easily scalable with an eye towards future changes.

Stay on the move

When it comes to the process of IT modernization, stopping is losing.  HPE and VMware are proud to be able to offer you solutions go beyond making on-going modernization possible. We make it easy.
