One month countdown for Windows Server 2008 End of Support!
Itโs officially the last minute: Windows Server 2008 end of support is just weeks away!
We get it. Youโre busy. Youโve got bigger fires to put out, and why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? But the big day is finally here. On 14 January 2020, Windows Serverยฎ 2008 will officially reach end of support (EoS). If you check your calendar, you may be surprised to find out that January 2020 is closer than you thinkโespecially if you donโt count the holidays between now and then.
Try not to feel bad. Last we counted, there were still 20 million servers running this operating system (OS), so that means a whole bunch of folks are in the same boat with you. If you wait until after the deadline, you and several million of your closest friends will wake up on 15 January to find you have:
ยท No free support
ยท No security updates or patches
ยท No feature updates
As you can imagine, this can present several business risks, such as:
ยท Increased exposure to major vulnerabilities and cybersecurity attacks
ยท Costly paid support (if the option is even available)
ยท Mounting operational expenses
But, while it is time to move quickly to upgrade your OSโthereโs no need to panic. HPE can help you upgrade from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2019 on HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers, giving you next-level computing speeds and increased storage capacity, helping you do more, fasterโwith better insights and performance. Plus, HPE and Microsoft have added cutting-edge security measures to the server and OS to protect you from cyberthreats and help you maintain data security and compliance.
Now is the time to start migration planning. Thereโs literally no time to waste.
Visit our HPEโMicrosoft alliance page for more details on product versions and which one is the best choice for you.
