The Race to Replace 4 Million Servers with ProLiant Gen10 Technology (CS007)
4 million servers in North America will be impacted by this looming perfect-storm: Support ends for vSphere 5.5 in Sept 2019 and support ends for Windows Server 2008 just 3 months later. 7,000 HPE customers are running these software products on legacy G5-Gen8 servers. Since the current versions of vSphere and Windows Server are not certified for most of these legacy systems, server upgrades will be required. Microsoft has offered an alternative: move these legacy 2008 environments to Azure. How would you respond if your customer asked you to net-out the benefits of these two choices? We'll address the value of each path and focus on the offer by Microsoft to run Windows Server 2008 on virtual machines in Azure. Since the majority of all HPE/Partner customers are facing these End of Support issues, it's critical to get up to speed on the details, get involved, and guide this discussion.
