Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.

Setting Up Mail for Domains

I have mail services setup and running for my domains but cannot seem to get my e-mail program to interact with the domain correctly.

How should I configure the server address for pop3 and smtp?

Thanks for your help...
I'll get it right one of these days...

Re: Setting Up Mail for Domains

use whatever you set up as the domain name.

If you set up the domain as domain.com, then put domain.com in both pop3 and smtp. If you put www.domain.com in as the domain, then put www.domain.com in for both pop3 and smtp. You may not be able to use it to send mail depending on your isp. MSN blocks using anything but their own smtp servers. I heard at one time that Verizon did the same, but I don't know for sure on it.
