HP Discover wrap-up according to bloggers

With my romp through Europe, I'm a bit late giving my semi-annual blogger shout-out after Discover.  We bring these independent voices to HP Discover so that you can hear someone else's view of the event and our news.  This year, we had 24 independent bloggers who attended HP Discover. and between them they posted over 75 articles and 49 videos.  I haven't had time to read and watch all of them but I want to share with you some of the storage highlights from them.  So be prepared for a large collection of links!  For a few of these, I'll provide a bit of commentary so here we go:

Robin Harris blog | @storagemojo

Enrico Signoretti (Italy) English Blog | Italian Blog | @esignoretti

  • 3PAR: $2/GB doesn’t tell the whole story. Enrico shared some insights from the blogger "coffee talk" with David Scott.  In his post he says, "The $2/GB is only a part of the story. If we look at the overall picture, HP 3PAR has been confirmed to be one of the most comprehensive enterprise storage platforms out there with a broad range of options, a single operating system and an easy to use management platform."

Nigel Poulton (UK) blog | @nigelpoulton

  • On HP and OpenStack. Nigel rightly points out that "HP seem like they are all over OpenStack."
  • 3PAR Dedupe – Let’s Take a Look.  Nigel is a pretty smart storage guy - he came to the industry's first Storage Tech Day - one I did back in 2009. He's a technologists and likes to push through "storylines" to get to the real truth.  That's what he does in this blog post - it's a pretty deep dive on his perspective of HP 3PAR Thin Deduplication.
  • I also want to call out a YouTube video I did with Nigel where I asked him about his thoughts on the HP 3PAR announcements.

Bart Heungens (Belgium), blog | @bartheungens

Justin Vashisht (US)  blog | @3cvguy

Nate Amsden (US), techopsguy.com

Philip Sellers (US)  blog  | @pbsellers

Howard Marks (US) blog | @deepstoragenet

Andy McCaskey (US),  blog | @axmc

Jake Ludington (US),  YouTube | blog | @jakeludington

Ernesto Pellegrino (Canada),  blog | @vmugonline

Julian Wood (UK) blog | @julian_wood

  • HP Discover Diaries. This is actually a series of posts that Julian did recapping each day at Discover.

Lots to read and catch up on here so bookmark the page and visit it often. Have a good weekend!
