HPE announces HPE SimpliVity with Composable Fabric!
This week at HPE Discover Madrid, Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced it is enhancing its HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged solutions with Composable Fabric. As the first hyperconverged infrastructure solution with Composable Fabric, HPE SimpliVity powered by Intel® sets a new standard for hyperconvergence with the integration of software-defined networking to improve the performance and management of distributed applications. The comprehensive hyperconverged offering provides end-to-end software-defined automation—all managed via a familiar single user interface.
HPE SimpliVity with Composable Fabric assimilates data center services, including compute, storage, network switching, hypervisor, backup, replication, cloud gateway, caching, WAN optimization, real-time deduplication, and more—in a single building block. Clustering multiple units forms a shared resource pool and delivers high availability and efficient scaling of performance and capacity. The new solution is specifically designed to bring cloud agility, scalability, and simplicity to the enterprise data center. It also provides the added benefits of VM-centric management and mobility, built-in data protection, and advanced data services, including always-on, inline deduplication, and compression of user data at inception.
HPE SimpliVity with Composable Fabric delivers:
- Operational agility: Simple and automated operations from a single user interface eliminate the need for specialized network and storage management skills, empowering VM administrators with self-service autonomy.
- Broad scale: By pooling network resources and scaling within and between racks, organizations can achieve accelerated DevOps velocity and application time-to-value without disrupting operations.
- Optimized performance: Composable Fabric tightens the connection between networks and workloads, making it easier to optimize workloads across infrastructure.
- Cost savings: The solution’s mesh fabric is more cost-efficient than alternative architectures, lowering costs and improving efficiency.
HPE hyperconverged infrastructure for general virtualization and the edge
HPE also announced earlier this month it has extended the HPE SimpliVity 2600 line to include models for general virtualization and remote offices. As data centers move to increasingly challenging locations, the HPE SimpliVity 2600 is ideal for environments where you need dense compute with moderate storage, but have limited data center space. This update also includes mixed federation capabilities allowing IT administrators to mix clusters within the same federation.
