How Change (and HPE Storage) Drive Business Growth

The pace of technology has revolutionized the way we work, shop and engage. Just twenty years ago, clouds only floated in the sky, and smartphones didn’t exist. Bleeding-edge technology was being able to visit your local coffee shop and log onto Wi-Fi. Now life without instant access to the internet is unimaginable for millions, including those in third-world countries. And in the next 10 years, we’ll see even more change as our world becomes more intelligent and app-driven.

“Progress is impossible without change,” the playwright George Bernard Shaw once said. “And those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”

With innovative technologies coming to market at an ever-increasing pace, it’s imperative that you regularly evaluate yourHPE Storage Change Business Growh.jpg IT strategy and make the adjustments your business demands.

Customers share how and why they are making new choices

Sometimes, it’s the changing market and competitive conditions that force change. At other times, it’s internal business dynamics or mergers and acquisitions. And at other times, the decisions and choices of our suppliers drive us to reassess longstanding strategies and adjust our course to accommodate customers, retain business, and remain competitive.

In light of the new Dell Technologies, many former loyal Dell and EMC customers have reassessed their IT strategy and are looking to HPE to help accelerate innovation, enable transformation and drive business growth.

Here are some of their stories.

A small European telecommunication service provider delivers scalable cloud services

Previously a Dell customer, CallHosted signed up a new client who wanted to resell scalable cloud services. As a relatively small service provider focused on the SMB market, CallHosted needed to quickly find a way to deliver the required services without incurring huge, upfront infrastructure expenditures.

With their existing vendors unable to propose a cost-effective solution, CallHosted turned to HPE, who proposed an innovative solution using HPE Hyper Converged 240 servers and HPE StoreOnce 2700 storage as the building blocks. Leveraging HPE Flexible Capacity to deliver on-demand capacity that combines the agility and economics of the public cloud and the security and performance of on-premises IT, CallHosted is now able to rapidly roll out new services and offer their customers a reliable, secure, and highly scalable platform with a consumption-based IT payment model that aligns cash flow to actual capacity usage.

"Together with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, CallHosted is able to deliver three things that are critical to its customers: flexibility, convenience and competitive prices,” said Paul Smissaert, CEO of CallHosted.

An IT giant swaps out their storage infrastructure as they build for the future

To support their “mobile first, cloud first” vision, Microsoft has been aggressively moving applications to their Azure platform. But to support future growth, the Microsoft Cloud Managed Services team needed to transform their entire IT architecture and infrastructure to reduce complexity, improve performance, simplify management, and reduce costs.

Despite being a loyal EMC customer for more than 10 years, Microsoft chose HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8450 all-flash arrays, which offer a range of options that support true convergence of block and file protocols, all-flash array performance, and the use of spinning media to further reduce costs. The arrays provide outstanding versatility, performance, and density, thereby reducing acquisition and operational costs by up to 75%—all extremely compelling factors that appealed to Microsoft. In addition, HPE’s proven architecture and cloud vision provided the confidence that HPE was the right partner over the long term.

Make the Smart Choice: “Progress is impossible without change”

Considering the fact that many companies—from SMBs to Fortune 1000 enterprises—are reassessing their IT strategy and partnering with HPE to deliver innovative, next-generation IT infrastructure, maybe it’s time for a change.
